The Bagpipe Bag: The very heart of your instrument
Bagpipe bag options have certainly come a long way. Originally made of traditional sheepskin or cowhide, material choices have been supplemented with synthetic and synthetic hybrid versions. Sizing has evolved too, with some manufacturers offering up to six choices. No matter which maker or material you choose, size is of paramount importance. A properly fit bag is critical to your piping success.

I am in a pipe band. I practice with the band once a week and practice at home once or twice a week. I have been using a Banantyne synthetic bag for a number of years. It's size, Large. I am 6 foot 1. My issue is my left shoulder gets sore after playing for 25 or 30 minutes. I am wondering if using a Medium bag would be beneficial for my shoulder pain. Thank you for your help. Your videos are very informative and helpful.
