Was curious about the sizing, I wear a women's 9 1/2 - 10 and need to order a pair of these asap for parade season...what size would be the best bet for me?

Womens size 9 1/2 to 10 would equate to mens size 8 to 9.

I received a pair of spats from an unknown place but the spats are very wide around the ankle. Don’t like the look. I was wondering if your spats fit tighter in the ankle or maybe just buy a smaller size?

A:
The spats that we carry will be tighter around the ankle. The ankle size does very a lot from maker to maker. We have had the opposite complaint from time to time that they can be a bit too tight.
