The McCallum Poly Pipe Band Chanter is available in 3 different designs.
1, Mark 1. The original McCallum Chanter with round holes
2, Mark 2. The first McCallum chanter offered with Oval holes and slightly higher pitched then the Mark 1
3, Mark 3. The most recent McCallum Oval holed chanter with a higher pitch.
Chanter sole options available upon request.

Yes, we can get a sole on the chanter for you, but it would be a special order and take a few weeks to come in.

A:
We can get one for you, but we need to be sure that we get the correct model for you. McCallum has 3 different models of there standard band chanter. Can you take an image of the sole, and the holes on the front of the chanter. This will help us to identify the chanter for you.

This is an easy chanter to reed. I like all of the ridge cut reeds in this chanter, especially the Melvin.

What is considered “standard pitch” for a pipe chanter? Is a higher pitched chanter 480? Thanks, M

A:
This is not as a straight forward question as it may seem. Currently, in competition solo and band settings, the modern pitch is about 482 and higher depending on the location and weather conditions of the day. There are other bands and soloists who look for a lower pitch. A higher pitched chanter would be higher that 486 in North America.
