Every chanter is individually tested by Willie McCallum, so you know it is fit to grace the boards of any prestigious solo competition. It has a threaded reed seat and is available in Polypenco plastic and African Blackwood. After two years of intense development and testing, Willie McCallum retired his own chanter of 20 years and took the first McCallum Solo Chanter into competition at the Lochaber Gathering, winning the òÂ�Aò™ Grade March, Strathspey & Reel, Open Senior Hornpipe & Jig and Piobaireachd ò“ a clean sweep of every event entered. Chanter sole options available on request.

Powerful Chanter
This chanter projects powerfully and has a very full, fat tone. Shepherd and MacPhee reeds have worked well with this chanter. Large finger holes, and a bit of a stretch on the lower hand. Love the sound, if you have smaller hands or narrow fingers, possibly try one in person before purchasing. Great support from Jon and the Pipers Hut getting reeds that seated well.

A:
The Mc2 holes are very slightly larger on the top hand down to D. C to Low A, they are larger being slightly oval. The hole spacing, between the holes are nearly identical, though the MC2 chanter's holes are a bit lower on the chanter compared to the Shepherd.
