M.G. Drone Reeds

These drone reeds seem to be of really good quality, and when they worked they sounded great. The issue I experienced was intermittent base drone double toning on strike in. I adjusted the reeds for air efficiency, the tuned them, I made many minute adjustments, and at times thought I'd found the cure as they would strike in beautifully 15 times in a row, then 10 times with double tones. The Piper's Hut staff was extremely helpful and accommodating, I spoke with John, who made a few suggestions which at first seemed to work, but ultimately yielded the same results. Collectively we agreed that these particular reeds aren't going to work consistently in my pipes for some unknown reason. We decided on an exchanging the MG's for a Canning base, hopefully that works out for me. I'm very pleased with the customer service I received, and speed of delivery of my order, I will definitely use The Piper's Hut in the future.
