I am very pleased with the Kinaird Edge Drone Reeds. They were very easy to set up and get going in my Kintail Drones. They are just a bit on the high-pitched side and I had to sink the nose-cone screws to get them tuning at the sweet point on the tuning pins, though. Nevertheless, the sound is excellent...closest thing to cane that I've found.

Couldn't quite get the hang of it

I had been using Kinnaird Evolution reeds for the past three years and was ready to replace them. I decided to try the new Edge reeds. The sound is just as good as you'd expect from Kinnaird. However I just couldn't the strength dialed in with the set screws. And in my 2010 Henderson's I had to really lower the pitch on the tenors and raise the pitch to the max with the bass reed.

PM CAL FIRE L2881 Pipes & Drums

I've used Kinnaird drone reeds for years and use the bass for my solos. Always reliable and stable. However, I had one set of pipes that few reeds, including the two other version of Kinnaird reeds just didn't settle in. These did the trick! Never a problem and I could set them up efficiently. I now use this bass in my solo set too and can dial in the strength and tone to what I like.
