A good reed. Very close to a Walsh in terms of performance and tone, maybe slightly less robust. Easy to blow, tolerates a dental band bridle well. Does fairly well in My Shepherd and Naill PCs.

Well suited for beginners.
I found this read to be "easy" to blow and a bit forgiving and it has a decent sound level. For me it's comparable to the G1 and Walsh. Highly recommended for beginners. For reference; My PC is the Dunbar poly LONG, previously called the Millennium 2000. Dunbar says the only thing that has changed in recent years is the name. Nothing in the manufacturing process that would affect sound quality.

This reed would work for you, as would most practice chanter reeds! The McCallum Practice chanter accepts all practice chanter reeds that I have encountered.
