Balance Tone Drone Reed

I’m a beginner piper and I was too afraid to get some cane reeds because I didn’t know how to take care of them so I got these ones and they’re pretty great. The strike-in is really smooth and they have a great tone that sounds a lot like the traditional cane reeds. It comes with a little instruction packet that explains how the reeds work and the names of the parts. It even allows you to open up the reed so one could more easily wrap hemp around the reed and it even tells you how to wrap the hemp. Overall I think this is a great product and it was worth every cent.

I have a set of Hardie pipes circa 1977. I have had hassles with synthetic drone reeds being too wide to fit tightly into the drone stocks. I spoke with Jon about this, and he made a couple of recommendations. I decided to try these guys. They are amazing! Fantastic tone and easy to tune. I will add: there is a small notch to help with hemping the ends to make them super tight. If only I had found them 25 years ago, or so, when I first switched from cane to synthetic drone reeds!
