Description

This natural Hemp comes in a 25 gram roll. It does not decompose nearly as quickly as the more commonly used cotton twine does meaning that you will have much less maintenance needed giving you more time to practice!!!

This hemp will need to be waxed. I  use the Thermo wax on the hemp next to the wood, wrap un-waxed hemp the rest of the way, then waxing the outside to create a waxed seal on the outside.

The is the real deal, folks. April 3, 2015
Reviewer: Matt Willis from Carrollton, TX United States
I've had the pleasure of using some old real hemp on some restoration projects from yesterday, and it was always a wonderful material to work with. This is as close as I think the current generation is going to get.

It's slightly thicker than the hemp of yore (and quite a bit thicker than the current unwaxed yellow shoe repair linen we use), but that does not affect its performance.

I just re-hemped my whole instrument, and most joints (save the blowpipe because of it's excessive moisture) don't even need any hemp seal or other lubricant given the texture and softness of the joints with this real hemp string.

I could go on and on, but I'll suffice it to say you should buy this, wax the first 12-18 inches with cobbler's wax, and re-hemp each joint on your bagpipe. and never look back.

A Superior Method, for the hemping of ALL joints February 7, 2014
Reviewer: Jay (Reedmaker for Boyd Reeds) from Clarkston MI United States
I've been using this for several months now, on all the joints of my mouth blown smallpipes, as well as the tenons of all my practice chanters. Does exactly what it says on the tin, and excels at it.

I always get a nice firm yet cushioned fit, and a great seal, without adding and removal all the time, like is often necessary with linen based thread, as a result of temperature changes, and moisture levels.
-Hemp, and forget.

Real hemp, was the BEST for many years until politics forced it from use. It's still best for the job, and I'm thankful it's back on the market.

Try this, and you'll also discover why teflon tape is a terrible solution for bagpipe joints ;)

I won't use anything else.
